Mortgage & lending

Your fixed term is ending. What comes next?

Review available rate and term options before your fixed-rate period ends.

Interest Refix, with your plans in mind.

Talk through your current lending and repayment preferences with your adviser. Your next fixed term should reflect your circumstances and the choices available from your lender.

Refixing a rate differs from moving to a new lender. Borrowing more or changing lenders may involve a separate assessment. A lower rate is not guaranteed.

Useful to know

Your questions, a clearer starting point.

What should I bring to the first conversation?

Information about your income, commitments, deposit, existing loans and property plans is a useful starting point. Your adviser will explain what is needed for your circumstances.

Is refixing the same as refinancing?

No. Refixing chooses a new fixed-rate period for your existing loan. Refinancing usually means moving lending to another lender and may involve assessment and switching costs.

Does advice cost anything?

Advice is generally paid for through lender commission. Fees can apply in some circumstances. Read the mortgage disclosure and discuss applicable costs with your adviser.
